Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Math Kids at 4.5 against Trilo Spelling Lite's 4.0. Math Kids also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (10K vs 3). Trilo Spelling Lite's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 83%) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 13.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Math Kids holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Math Kids has 10K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Trilo Spelling Lite's written reviews are positive against 83% of Math Kids's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Trilo Spelling Lite ships an update every 9 months, Math Kids fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
