This app could help developers to obtain the Core Motion data from the paired Apple Watch or from iPhone. Recorded data will be automatically synchronized to the iPhone. Users can view the recorded motion data directly on the iPhone in the form of line chart. Furthermore it also supports AirDrop and other forms of file sharing facility, making it easy for developers to obtain and analyze the Core Motion data. Core Motion reports motion and environment related data from the onboard hardware of watchOS device, including from the accelerometers and gyroscopes, and from the pedometer, magnetometer, altimeter and barometer.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite at 4.7 against CoreMotion Data Recorder's 4.0. Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (1.8K vs 1). CoreMotion Data Recorder's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 81%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and CoreMotion Data Recorder sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite has 1.8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite's written reviews are positive against 100% of CoreMotion Data Recorder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite ships an update weekly, CoreMotion Data Recorder every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
