HemsWX vs AVTECH proFLIGHT

The weather camera system HemsWX has been developed and financed by the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation, in close collaboration with Norsk Luftambulanse AS, and gives pilots access to their own weather cameras, webcams, weather forecasts from met.no and local pressure / temperature measurements for planning assignments. The app can, in this version, be used by partners such as helicopter operators, the Armed Forces, the emergency services and the Meteorological Institute. Employees at these must contact their own management for login info. Other individuals who believe they need access to HemsWX can apply for access to SNLA. The app is used at your own risk and by agreement with the developer.

AVTECH proFLIGHT is a high-quality weather tool for professional flight crew. proFLIGHT uses the actual flight route and time combined with the Met Office's Global 10KM Weather model to produce a tailored weather forecast based on the most up to date information. Hazardous weather such as high-resolution turbulence, alerts such as SIGMETS, among more weather-related data is presented to the pilot both in a horizontal map view and a vertical flight-profile view. proFLIGHT also, based on your specific aircraft performance parameters, uses a patented algorithm to optimize the wind selection (winds to be used by the FMS) for climb- and descent phases. proFLIGHT can be used not only during flight but also during the planning phase. Using proFLIGHT assists the flight crew in the decision-making process to optimize the flight to become more efficient and safe.
