BioStep vs SpinalTech3D Scan

The BioStep app is a professional ordering tool that allows licensed healthcare providers to capture 3D foot scans and submit orders for custom foot orthotics and AFOs fabricated by BioStep Inc. Providers can customize orders with complete product descriptions and images of every product. This app is intended exclusively for use by licensed healthcare professionals, including Podiatrists, Orthotists, Prosthetists, and Chiropractors. It is not intended for patient self-use and does not provide diagnoses, health measurements, or treatment advice. All clinical specifications are determined and entered by the treating provider. BioStep custom foot orthotics and AFOs are Class I devices, exempt from FDA premarket notification under 21 CFR 890.3475, and are intended for distribution within the United States. This app uses the Structure SDK / TrueDepth camera for 3D scanning. Supported device list (updated regularly): https://techmed3d.zohodesk.com/portal/en/kb/articles/minimun-device-requirements Our SpinalTech3D Scan app refines the process of ordering custom spinal orthoses in the Orthotic field. You can order from Spinal Technology by electronically integrating 3D scans, images, practitioner instructions, and filling out our custom spinal and scoliosis orthometry forms.  With this app, practitioners can take 3D scans, include images to denote anatomical landmarks, then write comments and instructions on the images and, using Tech Med 3D software, combine all images and documentation into one electronic file that is emailed to Spinal Technology, Inc.  When the file is received in-house, we use our proprietary software to modify the image based on the patient information and the brace design that the practitioner selects. The modified file is loaded to one of our six carvers to produce a positive model of the patient’s torso that is further fine-tuned for precise fabrication of a custom orthosis.   

The SpinalTech3D Scan app is designed to work seamlessly with an iPad and Structure Scanner.  There is no cost for the SpinalTech3D Scan app, no conversion fees nor any added cost associated with this technology, yet it will improve accuracy and save time.
