Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Affirmations & Quote Widget at 4.5 against Date & Time Widget's 3.5. Affirmations & Quote Widget also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (322 vs 103). Date & Time Widget's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Date & Time Widget sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Affirmations & Quote Widget sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Affirmations & Quote Widget holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 103 and 322 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of Date & Time Widget's written reviews are positive against 55% of Affirmations & Quote Widget's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Date & Time Widget ships an update every 7 months, Affirmations & Quote Widget every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
