Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Countdown Buddy at 26K against Streaks's 46. Streaks's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Streaks sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Countdown Buddy sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Streaks against 4.6 for Countdown Buddy. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown Buddy has 26K ratings behind it against 46, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 60% of Streaks's written reviews are positive against 68% of Countdown Buddy's.
Streaks ships an update every 8 days, Countdown Buddy every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
