Climate Quest is now available for iOS! Recommended for players ages 8 and up. Play through classic 8-bit style graphics and a retro-inspired soundtrack as you help our zany cast of scientists SAVE THE WORLD by preparing against climate disasters that occur around America. Climate Quest is a game that gives the player the power to influence mass climate change events and learn about how climate change can affect the cities and towns that they live in. Each game event has been vetted by climate scientists for scientific accuracy. This game is brought to you by the EarthGames team at the University of Washington, and proudly debuted at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in January 2016 after winning first place at the national Climate Game Jam. Climate Quest is for ages 8 and up, and is designed to be played in a museum, classroom, or home setting. It takes approximately 10 minutes to play through the game. Teachers and parents can also utilize our accompanying teaching material accessible at our site (earthgames.org) to extend the learning experience. We'd love to hear from you! About

Optio Education

Features

Optio is a learning platform for students, families, and homeschoolers who believe the process is the goal. Instead of grades and test scores, Optio gives young learners a quiet place to capture what they're actually doing — the sketchbook page they started, the recipe they cooked, the coral reef documentary that stuck with them, the chapter of the book they finally finished. Each moment becomes part of a growing portfolio that reflects who they are as a learner. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Capture learning moments in seconds — a photo, a short reflection, or both • Take on Quests built around real projects, broken into bite-sized tasks • Earn XP across pillars (STEM, art, communication, civics, wellness) by doing the work, not by passing a test • See your Learning Rhythm — a calendar that shows how consistent your practice has been • Build a portfolio that travels with you, year after year FOR FAMILIES • Parents see every kid in one Family tab — recent moments, active quests, learning rhythm, XP totals • Grandparents, mentors, and tutors can join as Observers — view-only access with kind comments, no admin chrome • Post Bounties from family members ("read a chapter book this week" → +50 XP) to encourage real-world challenges FOR THE WAY KIDS ACTUALLY LEARN Optio treats learning as something kids do every day, not just at school. The journal works for after-school projects, weekend trips, side interests, and dedicated homeschool curriculum alike. There are no scores, no streaks designed to manipulate, no leaderboards. Just a record of practice and the quiet pride of seeing it grow. PRIVACY & SAFETY • Kids under 13 are managed by a parent account • Observers (grandparents, mentors) only see what parents approve • No ads, ever • All content stays in the family unless explicitly shared Built for iPhone and iPad. Sync across devices.
