Learn CEFR Oxford Words also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). Word's advantage is iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). Learn CEFR Oxford Words holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Learn CEFR Oxford Words has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Word's written reviews are positive against 61% of Learn CEFR Oxford Words's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Word ships an update every 2 months, Learn CEFR Oxford Words every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
