Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Study Time With Rain at 4.8 against CityNav's 3.0. Study Time With Rain also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (788 vs 1). CityNav's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (100% vs 91%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Study Time With Rain sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. CityNav asks for nothing beyond the download.
Study Time With Rain holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Study Time With Rain has 788 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of CityNav's written reviews are positive against 91% of Study Time With Rain's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
CityNav ships an update every 12 months, Study Time With Rain every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
