Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Card.Note at Free against ColorCamera's $0.99. Card.Note also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (15 vs 26.0). ColorCamera's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (88% vs 79%). On update cadence, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Card.Note is free to download; ColorCamera costs $0.99 up front. ColorCamera sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Card.Note sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Card.Note holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 290 and 81 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of ColorCamera's written reviews are positive against 79% of Card.Note's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
ColorCamera ships an update weekly, Card.Note every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
