SpeciesSolutions is a new resource from WoodSolutions that enable you to look up and compare the physical properties of timber species, you can also search species by the applications they are commonly used for in Australia. SpeciesSolutions also allows you to search for companies that supply either the timber species or the application in question, e.g., windows. One of the major causes of reduced service life of timber products is the use of an inappropriate species. By suggesting a range of appropriate species, SpeciesSolutions not only encourages the use of a suitable timber species but provides options of which the user may not be aware. This can have benefits including increased availability, shorter lead times and cost savings.
