Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: GO FRIEND at 4.3 against Excellent Throw's 3.2. GO FRIEND also leads on ratings volume (984 vs 43). Excellent Throw's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Excellent Throw sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and GO FRIEND sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
GO FRIEND holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GO FRIEND has 984 ratings behind it against 43, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Excellent Throw's written reviews are positive against 50% of GO FRIEND's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Excellent Throw ships an update every 3 weeks, GO FRIEND every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 13, 2026.
