Study for all three parts of the AWS Certified Welding Inspector examination with explained practice questions, lessons and calculators. Gauge is an independent study aid, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the American Welding Society or any testing provider. 496 EXPLAINED PRACTICE QUESTIONS Review Fundamentals, Practical and Code Application with topic-based practice and explanations. The app's topic allocations are its own study design. TIMED PRACTICE, NOT AN EXAM REPLICA The app's forms contain 150, 46 and 50 scored practice items for Parts A, B and C respectively. They do not include unscored pretest items. Part C uses GSWS-1 rather than a selected real code book. Confirm current exam requirements and reference editions with AWS. The app's practice targets are 72% on each one of its part forms and a 72% composite calculated as the simple average of the latest recorded part percentages. Practice scores are study feedback, not official exam results or a prediction. A FICTIONAL SPECIFICATION FOR CODE PRACTICE Read and search GSWS-1, a 319-clause fictional practice specification with tables, qualification ranges and cross-references. Use it for code-navigation exercises, not as an official exam reference or a real-work authority. Its practice values do not establish governing requirements, even where a number resembles one in a published code. WORKED QUESTION SOLUTIONS AND SEPARATE CALCULATORS Heat input, carbon equivalent, fillet leg and throat, deposition rate, radiographic unsharpness, ultrasonic sound path and skip distance, and ultrasonic indication rating. Calculation questions include authored worked steps with units. The separate calculators show the formula, result and practical guidance; they do not display a worked question solution. WHAT IS AVAILABLE WITHOUT THE UNLOCK Part A includes 24 lessons, its 300-question bank and a 150-scored-item timed practice form. Access without the unlock also includes all 57 calculators, the introductory section of GSWS-1 and samples of Part B and Part C questions. WHAT THE UNLOCK ADDS A non-consumable in-app purchase opens the remaining Part B and Part C banks and lessons, their timed practice forms, the remaining GSWS-1 sections, and access to the corresponding review and analytics features. There is no subscription. The App Store provides the current localized price. STUDY FEATURES AND CONNECTIVITY Flashcards, scenario-based practice, spaced repetition, subject-area progress, bookmarks and personal notes support review. Bundled study content and calculator computations run on the device. Access to paid content requires a valid unlock. Loading the current price, purchasing and restoring require an App Store connection. No app account is required.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SchoolStatus at none against Gauge's 1. SchoolStatus also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). Gauge's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
