Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Password Manager | vault at 100% against Apple Wallet's 54%. Apple Wallet's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 3.6) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Password Manager | vault sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Apple Wallet asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Apple Wallet holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Apple Wallet has 7.5M ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of Apple Wallet's written reviews are positive against 100% of Password Manager | vault's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Apple Wallet ships an update every 3 months, Password Manager | vault every 14 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
