Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: QuranHive at 4.9 against Steingass's 4.0. QuranHive also leads on ratings volume (528 vs 4). Steingass's advantage is update cadence (every 6 months vs every 32 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.5). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
QuranHive holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: QuranHive has 528 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Steingass's written reviews are positive against 94% of QuranHive's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Steingass ships an update every 6 months, QuranHive every 32 months. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
