Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Snap at 4.4 against Actev's 3.3. Snap also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (68 vs 6). Actev's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 11.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Snap holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Snap has 68 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Actev's written reviews are positive against 75% of Snap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Actev ships an update every 8 months, Snap every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
