Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Bolt at free with in-app purchases against GAINSFIRE Workout Tracker's subscription. Bolt also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 11) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). GAINSFIRE Workout Tracker's advantage is review sentiment (95% vs 79%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. GAINSFIRE Workout Tracker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Bolt sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Bolt holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bolt has 1.4K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of GAINSFIRE Workout Tracker's written reviews are positive against 79% of Bolt's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
GAINSFIRE Workout Tracker ships an update every 3 weeks, Bolt every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
