Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Guidus at 4.8 against Doomfields's 4.3. Guidus also leads on ratings volume (3K vs 203). Doomfields's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Guidus sells 13 one-off in-app purchases and Doomfields sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Guidus holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Guidus has 3K ratings behind it against 203, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Guidus's written reviews are positive against 79% of Doomfields's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Guidus ships an update every 3 weeks, Doomfields every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
