Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Case Open holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Empty. has 2.4K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of Empty.'s written reviews are positive against 80% of Case Open's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 13, 2026 respectively.
