Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: GT Tiger Tips at none against QR's 3. GT Tiger Tips also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 69%). QR's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 42 months) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 2). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QR sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. GT Tiger Tips asks for nothing beyond the download.
GT Tiger Tips holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: QR has 1.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of GT Tiger Tips's written reviews are positive against 69% of QR's.
GT Tiger Tips ships an update every 42 months, QR fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
