Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Redwing at 50% against Ultimate Comic Reader's 20%. Redwing also leads on ratings volume (12 vs 2). Ultimate Comic Reader's advantage is rating (3.0 vs 2.6) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Ultimate Comic Reader sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Redwing sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Ultimate Comic Reader holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Redwing has 12 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Ultimate Comic Reader's written reviews are positive against 50% of Redwing's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
