Remember your doctor visits where you were asked when your last period was, and how long it was? And you just couldn’t remember so you had to end up giving the doctor a random estimate. These estimates give doctors unreliable data, which means an unreliable diagnosis. And perhaps there was that one time when your period was extremely painful, or there was a very unusual symptom, but you never really noticed. These small details are very important for your health, and giving the right information can prevent problems in your periods from becoming worse. Her Flo will help you exactly with that. Using our app, users can log their periods, and enter information such as their period date, flow amount, symptoms, and additional notes. The user can also take a look at previous symptoms that they logged, and check for anything unusual or odd in their periods. 9-14% of women have irregular periods*. That means around 535 million women suffer from periods that they can’t fully be prepared for. This leads to several problems… * Many women don’t even notice these irregularities between their busy lives, and miss signs that there is something unhealthy about their periods. * On top of that, young pre-teen girls who just had their first periods are confused. They have just experienced painful cramps, headaches, and more. * Most girls have irregular periods in their first few years, because their body is still new to this and doesn’t have a set schedule. It also reacts in different ways, and for some, these can be concerning. * And with their eventful teenage lives, these unpredictable and harsh periods just make things worse. Her Flo helps women of all ages, especially pre-teens and teens monitor their periods and stay healthy. So next time your doctor asks these questions, you can give them a confident and reliable answer just by checking the previous data you entered. *Source: Penn Medicine 2020
