Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: DeadSpread at weekly against Taper's Section's every 3 months. DeadSpread also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Taper's Section's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.
