Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: RF Connect at every 4 weeks against Car's every 7 months. RF Connect also leads on rating (2.0 vs 1.6). Car's advantage is ratings volume (129 vs 21) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
RF Connect holds the better App Store score, 2.0 against 1.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Car has 129 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of Car's written reviews are positive against 5% of RF Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Car ships an update every 7 months, RF Connect every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
