Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Citizen Test Prep 2026 at 4.8 against USCIS's 4.0. Citizen Test Prep 2026 also leads on ratings volume (3.6K vs 303) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). USCIS's advantage is review sentiment (55% vs 18%) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Citizen Test Prep 2026 sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. USCIS asks for nothing beyond the download.
Citizen Test Prep 2026 holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Citizen Test Prep 2026 has 3.6K ratings behind it against 303, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of USCIS's written reviews are positive against 18% of Citizen Test Prep 2026's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
USCIS ships an update every 2 months, Citizen Test Prep 2026 monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
