Verdict
KiTplayer and JO1 OFFICIAL APP both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 81% of JO1 OFFICIAL APP's written reviews are positive against 34% of KiTplayer's. KiTplayer's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
