Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: WITF at free against WQED+'s freemium. WITF also leads on review sentiment (62% vs 50%) and ratings volume (25 vs 7). WQED+'s advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
WQED+ holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 25 and 7 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of WITF's written reviews are positive against 50% of WQED+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
WITF ships an update every 5 weeks, WQED+ every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
