Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
DW Learn German holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DW Learn German has 131 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of DW Learn German's written reviews are positive against 100% of KIKUS games's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
DW Learn German ships an update every 16 months, KIKUS games monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
