Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Asap Calculus at 4.2 against Pre's 3.3. Asap Calculus also leads on ratings volume (92 vs 3). Pre's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pre sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Asap Calculus sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Asap Calculus holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Asap Calculus has 92 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
