TWIC ADVISR

  • Card status indicator
Features

Uses the Credential Identification Number (CIN) printed on the back of the TWIC card and compares it against a List of Canceled CIN Numbers (LCCN) to determine if the card has been canceled. The CIN can be entered via a keypad or the barcode can be scanned via the device's camera. If the CIN is found on the list, the display indicates the card is canceled. If the CIN is not on the list, the operator is prompted to check the expiration date printed on the front of the card. If the card is expired, the display indicates to the operator that it is expired. If it has not expired, the display indicates that the card has not been canceled. There is NO electronic read of the card and NO verification of any data stored in the card is performed.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: TWIC ADVISR at 3.7 against Apollo ELD's 2.1. TWIC ADVISR also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.0). Apollo ELD's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (103 vs 9). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

TWIC ADVISR holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Apollo ELD has 103 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 11% of Apollo ELD's written reviews are positive against 0% of TWIC ADVISR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Apollo ELD ships an update every 2 months, TWIC ADVISR every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
