Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Sky+ at 1.8 against Megacable XView's 1.3. Sky+ also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). Megacable XView's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Sky+ holds the better App Store score, 1.8 against 1.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 35 and 26 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 4% of Megacable XView's written reviews are positive against 0% of Sky+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Megacable XView ships an update every 3 months, Sky+ monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 11, 2026 respectively.
