About

PsyTimer Stopwatch 2

Features

The PsyTimer Stopwatch 2 combines a stopwatch with an alarm clock. Thus, it may time an interval and warn when a pre-set time limit is reached at the same time. The PsyTimer Stopwatch 2 is carefully designed to present elapsed and remaining time as well as available options in a simple and distinct way. Prominently, a digital time display as well as an analogue clock is presented concurrently. The timing is very precise as it is continuously computed as the time elapsed since the timing was started. Thus, there is no accumulation of small timing errors. The PsyTimer Stopwatch 2 may be used in many different situations. The author first developed it for testing of intelligence and neuropsychological testing, but it has found many other uses, e.g. presentations, speeches, laboratories and broadcasting. Features: - Elapsed time will feature on a digital display as well as on an analogue clock. This makes it easy to collect information during testing, presentations, and other tasks that may demand most of your attention. - All functions can be accessed easily. A big Start-Stop button can be found at the bottom of the display where it is easy to reach, even while your are attending to the task, you are timing. - It is also easy to choose among pre-set time limits on the primary stopwatch display. - The display will not turn off while you are using the stopwatch. - The digital display will change color when the time limit has been reached. You can also choose for a sound signal to emit at this point (optional), and the screen may flash one or more times (optional). - A progress bar will display the elapsed time if a time limit has been chosen. - It is possible to select among a number of sounds for the alarm signal, including short and quiet sounds as well as long, loud, and attention catching sounds. - The main digital display may show either minutes and seconds, or the total number of seconds elapsed. - The repeat function makes it possible to cycle an interval. A cycle count is displayed (The author uses this for a concentration test, where the assessor has to give a prompt every 20 seconds). - You can choose to have the Reset button to the right or to the left of the Start-Stop button (for single hand use for both right and left handers). - A history log of previous timings. - Landscape view. You will probably want to put your iPhone in "Airplane Mode" when using the stopwatch for tasks like testing and presentations in order to avoid calls, mails etc. This app is continuously maintained. You might suggest a feature you miss: mail@cognisoft.dk. However, I will not include features that will impede the functionality and simplicity for the primary intended uses of the stopwatch.

Measure. Play. Explore. Discover your hand’s dimensions and proportions, turn your screen into a ruler, and keep your measurements in one place. Then take a playful break with finger games and hand-controlled activities. HAND MEASURE Show an open hand to the camera to explore hand length, finger lengths, palm dimensions, and thumb-to-finger spans. Colored guides show what each measurement represents. Choose inches or centimeters, hide guides you don’t need, and tap to freeze the view—or hold steady for automatic capture. Explore an estimated glove size based on palm width, then check the glove maker’s sizing chart. Ratio mode puts size in perspective. Compare palm dimensions and span with hand length, or compare wrist-to-fingertip distances against the middle fingertip as your reference. SCREEN RULER Measure small objects beside your screen with horizontal and vertical scales. Show inches, centimeters, or both, and drag optional guides to mark an object’s edges. Use the credit card reference to check the scale and calibrate when needed. The reference includes standard card dimensions and typical thickness for a handy everyday comparison. MEASURE NOTES Keep measurements you’ll want to find again—from a person’s hand size to a doorway, shelf, or piece of furniture. Add a name and write measurements in any format. Search, edit, delete, or share your notes. No fixed measurement fields or required units. CUSTOM MEASURE Place two points in the camera view to estimate a distance. Tap to place points, or aim the center crosshair and add them. Adjust endpoints, remove individual lines, and switch between inches, centimeters, and ratios. In ratio mode, your first line becomes the reference. Measuring feet? Add heel-to-toe and width measurements, then explore estimated shoe sizes. Always compare results with the specific brand’s sizing chart. PLAY WITH YOUR HANDS • Touch and Go: bring the requested fingertips together, then gently move them apart. Choose easy, medium, or hard combinations. • Thumb Pinky Switch: raise a thumb on one hand and a pinky on the other—then swap. • Tip Spark and Tip Spark 10: match numbered targets with your fingertips. • Finger Treadmill: walk your fingers across an onscreen belt and track your distance, pace, and history. • Omni Treadmill: add sideways movement and explore forward, left, and right distance. • Palm Compass: flip and rotate your hand to match the cue. • Musical Instrument: make music with gestures. • Lotus Garden and Lotus Breathing: explore gentle, hand-controlled moments of play and relaxation. Find more activities by category, search by name or description, and star favorites for quick access. Instructions are available within each activity. OPTIONAL ONE-TIME UPGRADE Start with included tools, measurements, and activities. Some activities offer limited free sessions. An optional lifetime purchase unlocks additional measurements, selected games, and advanced features. No subscription. See the app for current purchase details. PRIVACY Camera images are processed on your device and are not uploaded. You choose whether to capture and share measurement results. IMPORTANT TO KNOW Measurements, glove sizes, and shoe sizes are estimates—not medical measurements or professional fitting advice. Accuracy depends on lighting, camera angle, hand position, tracking quality, calibration, and device capabilities. Compatible cameras can use TrueDepth or LiDAR. When usable depth is unavailable, hand measurements rely on a confirmed hand-length reference. Check Screen Ruler’s scale with a physical reference before relying on it. Use a physical ruler when precision matters. Hand activities do not assess or treat health conditions. Keep movements comfortable, skip difficult combinations, and never force a pose.
