Verdict
Molecule Motion and Hamster Hero both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Molecule Motion's written reviews are positive against 50% of Hamster Hero's. Molecule Motion also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Molecule Motion sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Hamster Hero sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Hamster Hero holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Molecule Motion's written reviews are positive against 50% of Hamster Hero's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Molecule Motion ships an update weekly, Hamster Hero every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
