Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Marble Run Building Blocks at 80% against Marble Slide's 33%. Marble Run Building Blocks also leads on ratings volume (156 vs 1) and update cadence (every 16 months vs every 37 months). Marble Slide's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.4) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Marble Slide holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Marble Slide's written reviews are positive against 80% of Marble Run Building Blocks's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
