Eclipse Explorer is a free mobile app that allows you to view the circumstances for solar eclipses that occur between 1900 and 2100 using your GPS defined location. It uniquely features countdown timers to eclipse events at your specific location, simulates the position of the Sun and Moon, and draws the location of the Moon's shadow on the Earth in real-time. A solar eclipse is one of nature's most amazing spectacles, however, clouds can ruin your day. Use this app to overlay satellite and radar data on the day of the eclipse to make sure you stay within the path of totality and away from the clouds! Find out exactly when the eclipse starts and finishes for your location with countdown timers. Be ready for the total eclipse in August of 2017! Free, with minor ad support. Only one full page ad will be displayed per app start, then one banner ad, which will automatically close in less than 20 seconds. About

Mirino

Features

Mirino turns your iPhone or iPad into a simple, intuitive star finder. Want to know where a planet or constellation is in the night sky? Choose it from our catalog and follow the compass guides. Wondering what you're looking at? Just point your device at it. Every object comes with a large picture and a full description. FIND Choose the Moon, a planet, a space station, a star or constellation, a galaxy, a meteor shower or the Milky Way from the targets catalog. Guide dots on the compass lead you to it and, when your aim is right, the target's picture appears. DISCOVER Switch to Discover mode and sweep your device across the sky. Mirino shows you what you're pointing at, with its name and a beautiful image that updates as you move. Turn your device sideways for a larger picture. GO DEEPER Descriptions open onto what lies within: every planet's moons, features of the Sun, Moon and Mars, the comets behind meteor showers, and gems like the Pillars of Creation and the Horsehead Nebula. Planets show tonight's phase, size and distance. SEE THE SKY BEHIND THE COMPASS Set the camera to Scope or Full to see the live sky behind the compass rose. On a dark night, Night Boost brightens the view so faint objects show more clearly. Constellation images turn to match the sky, with optional star names and true star colors. PATH IN THE SKY Tap the center of the compass, with the camera on, to draw your target's path across the sky: where it rises and sets, each hour along the way, and where it is now. Each target's description adds a graph of how high it climbs tonight, and satellites show tonight's passes. LIVE SKY Turn the compass ring, or touch and hold its picture, and your target flies onto the sky. A constellation's stars and lines are drawn over the camera where they really are; any other object is enlarged and pinned to its place in the sky. TONIGHT One tap lists the best things to see from where you are tonight: the Moon, the brightest planets, space station passes, meteor showers near their peak, and the finest stars and deep-sky objects. Tap one and Mirino guides you to it, or tap its bell for a reminder. Alerts flag supermoons, lunar eclipses, meteor peaks and planets at their best. A forecast for the dark hours shows cloud, temperature, wind and rain. MADE FOR REAL NIGHTS OUT • Sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset times • Golden hour and blue hour times for photographers • All the planets, all 88 official constellations and 62 of the brightest stars • The ISS, China's Tiangong and the Hubble Space Telescope, with their next visible pass • Meteor showers with peak dates, moonlight and guidance to their radiant • Homing taps and tones guide you to your target without looking • A Visible Now filter shows only what you can see right now • Calibrate on the Sun, Moon or a bright planet, or drag the live sky onto the stars, to correct compass errors • Red mode turns the screen red to protect your night vision • Works offline apart from the forecast and satellite updates. No account, no sign-up SIMPLE BY DESIGN No cluttered sky charts or complicated menus: Mirino focuses on one object at a time, with clear, easy guidance to it. Swipe between compass styles, from brass to leather, and turn the compass ring to zoom. Choose. Point. Find. Or simply aim high and Discover.
