Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: NFC Tools at 100% against NFC Tools's 51%. NFC Tools's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (14K vs 20). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. NFC Tools sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and NFC Tools sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

NFC Tools holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NFC Tools has 14K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of NFC Tools's written reviews are positive against 100% of NFC Tools's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

NFC Tools ships an update every 3 weeks, NFC Tools every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
