Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Stack at 100% against Subscription Manager's 52%. Stack also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). Subscription Manager's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.7) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Subscription Manager sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Stack sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Subscription Manager holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Subscription Manager has 1.6K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of Subscription Manager's written reviews are positive against 100% of Stack's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Subscription Manager ships an update every 2 weeks, Stack monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
