Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Question Diary at none against Moodee's 1. Question Diary also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 8 months). Moodee's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (59% vs 34%). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Moodee sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Question Diary asks for nothing beyond the download.
Question Diary holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Question Diary has 184 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of Question Diary's written reviews are positive against 59% of Moodee's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Question Diary ships an update every 3 months, Moodee every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
