Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Aires Studio at 60% against OBS's 11%. Aires Studio also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). OBS's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 2.3) and ratings volume (435 vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OBS sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Aires Studio asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

OBS holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OBS has 435 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Aires Studio's written reviews are positive against 11% of OBS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Aires Studio ships an update every 4 months, OBS every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
