Manage a team of 12 players (7F, 3D, 2G) and you have 50M of cap room to play with. Once the hockey season starts, your team accumulates fantasy points based on real life performance of the players on your roster. But the value - or price - of a player is dynamic and will change daily based on how often a player is added (bought) and dropped (sold) within all of the Dobbernomics fantasy leagues. Using the buy low/sell high strategy, you can increase the total value of your team, therefore giving you the chance to acquire better players and hence increase your potential fantasy points later in the season.

The call

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Dobbernomics at none against Rank King's 1. Dobbernomics also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Rank King's advantage is ratings volume (17 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Dobbernomics holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rank King has 17 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of Rank King's written reviews are positive against 83% of Dobbernomics's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Rank King ships an update every 5 weeks, Dobbernomics every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
