Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Complement app at 61% against Watch Faces Gallery's 12%. Complement app also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4). Watch Faces Gallery's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (5.9K vs 1K). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Complement app sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Watch Faces Gallery sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Complement app holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Watch Faces Gallery has 5.9K ratings behind it against 1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 61% of Complement app's written reviews are positive against 12% of Watch Faces Gallery's.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
