The Walkingworld app gives you access to over 7000 British walks. Each walk comes with step by step instructions and waymark positions on a map. The instructions have pictures to make navigation easy and you can instantly see where each waymark is on the map. The maps are provided by Ordnance Survey and are always right up to date. When you get the full details for a walk the map is downloaded too and is stored for offline use. As you walk your position is shown on the map, so you can see how you are progressing from waymark to waymark. Nothing could be simpler! As a user of the free version of the app you can download one walk at a time and save it for 7 days. The map is an Ordnance Survey one but it is a simple 'open map' type, perfectly good for many types of walk. Upgrade with a modest annual subscription and you can follow walks on Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 Landranger and 1:25,000 Explorer maps, save as many walks as you like and keep them on your device for 30 days. You can also get a GPX file to load into other mapping applications. To find walks you can search by place name, postcode or by simply searching for walks nearby if you have your GPS turned on. Because of the sheer number of walks in the Walkingworld library you will always find some close by. You can filter the list of walks by grade, length and by key features such as pubs, cafes and whether walks are good for children or wheelchairs. Walkingworld has been providing online walking guides for over 20 years, with walks contributed and maintained by over 500 enthusiastic authors, with help from our thousands of members. The Walkingworld app brings those guides to your phone in the simplest, most easy to follow, way. We hope you will enjoy the walks and being part of the Walkingworld community. Venue Compass is a simple, discreet directory of private venues — now with optional anonymous check-ins and private chat. How it works • Type a postcode or place (e.g. “SW1A 1AA” or “Leeds”). • Choose a distance in miles. • See nearby venues on a clean list or map. • Tap a venue to check in: “I’m here” or “Going.” • Select “Here solo” or “Open to chat.” • If others are checked in and open to chat, start a private, anonymous conversation. • Chats use random usernames and expire at midnight. Features • Fast postcode & place search (UK). • Miles-based radius slider. • List ↔ Map toggle, distance badges. • “Use my location” (with permission). • Report a venue (wrong/closed/duplicate). • Optional email updates (consent-based). • New: Anonymous check-ins & midnight-expiring chats. Privacy • No accounts or login required. • No names, ages or phone numbers collected. • We don’t track your location—your device searches locally, then we forget it. • If you join email updates, we only store your email for news you’ve asked for. Important • 18+ only. • We don’t host explicit content or provide matchmaking. • Always check the venue’s website before travelling (hours & policies can change). • If something looks out of date, use “Report a venue” and we’ll fix it.
