Both are free to download. AR Runner sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. VR Escape from Maze asks for nothing beyond the download.
VR Escape from Maze holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AR Runner has 210 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of AR Runner's written reviews are positive against 26% of VR Escape from Maze's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
AR Runner ships an update every 5 days, VR Escape from Maze every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
