An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a workplace intervention program designed to enhance the emotional, mental and general well-being of all employees and immediate family members. The aim is to provide a preventative and proactive intervention for the early detection, identification and resolution of both work and personal problems that may adversely affect performance and well-being. An effective Employee Assistance Program can lead to a reduction in absenteeism, accidents and staff turnover, whilst at the same time increasing staff morale. Counselling, is the opportunity to talk with a professionally trained person who can offer advice, support and possibly a new outlook on issues which are causing concern. It is generally accepted that talking with an experienced Psychologist can assist in resolving problems. The Working Life Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a counselling service that provides employees, immediate family members and managers access to support in person, online (e-counselling), or on the telephone, allowing individuals to receive free confidential counselling support where ever they are located.
