Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: solAR at 4.6 against Hyperspace AR's 3.8. solAR also leads on update cadence (every 3 months vs every 43 months) and ratings volume (2.1K vs 11). Hyperspace AR's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. solAR sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Hyperspace AR asks for nothing beyond the download.
solAR holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: solAR has 2.1K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of solAR's written reviews are positive against 71% of Hyperspace AR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
solAR ships an update every 3 months, Hyperspace AR every 43 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
