The Space Shuttle has been revived through Augmented Reality(AR) since its last flight in 2011. AR is a technology that displays virtual objects in the real world. You are the launch director of the Space Shuttle. Your mission is to launch the Space Shuttle and dock with the International Space Station safely. The Space Shuttle will be launched with smoke and fire from the launch pad. The shuttle will separate booster engines and an external fuel tank. It will dock with the Space Station above the Earth. The sound and the countdown make AR Space Shuttle more realistic. You can watch the shuttle's motions from various angles. Launch a 3D virtual Space Shuttle in your backyard or any other place. This app is a simple experiment in AR. The app is not only for Space Shuttle fans but also for anyone interested in AR. Try launching the 3D virtual Space Shuttle now.

In Voyager 2, it's your mission to launch the Voyager space probes on a Grand Tour of the Solar System. Plot your trajectory to pass as close to your objective as possible (without crashing into it!) to achieve the perfect flyby. Scan for enough data and earn a Golden Record and earn a spectacular replay of the route your probe actually flew. But that's just the beginning. Use gravity to bend your path and rendezvous with impossibly distant planets. Pilot landers to touch the surface of alien worlds. Carefully manage ∆v (delta-v) to inject satellites into orbit and build out a deep space network of relays. And find a way to beam your findings home before they're lost forever in the depths of outer space. Crash. Burn. Adapt. Learn. Master real principles of orbital mechanics and explore our cosmic neighborhood in the greatest scientific mission of all time: Voyager 2!

Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Space Shuttle AR at Free against Voyager 2's $2.99. Space Shuttle AR also leads on review sentiment (78% vs 50%) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 4). Voyager 2's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Space Shuttle AR is free to download; Voyager 2 costs $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Voyager 2 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Space Shuttle AR has 1.2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Space Shuttle AR's written reviews are positive against 50% of Voyager 2's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Space Shuttle AR ships an update every 5 months, Voyager 2 monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
