Remake is a multi-band effect designed for rich and crisp sound. The input signal is split into 3 parts. Then resonances are added to the lows (under 100Hz) and at the same time two harmonic voices are added to the mid frequencies only. One unison voice and one on perfect fifth interval. These 2 voices have their own positions in the stereo. Then the original mids are mixed with the additional voices and the signal goes through warm and gentle overdrive/gain booster effect with gain control. The high frequencies of the sound are sent through slight vibrato effect. All these signals are finally mixed on the output to form the result sound. The effect can work as a stand alone app and as an audio unit AUV3 plug-in. Controls: - Bass Vibe - amount of resonances on the low frequencies - Mid Gain - gain on the midshipmen’s - Voices - level of the additional mid voices - Reverb This is my first multi-band effect and I made it on a music hack day at Vienna to demonstrate my audio technology.

The ERS DimD chorus audio plugin was originally designed and sold by Harrie Munnik and his Dutch company EmptyRoomSystems. DDMF is proud to carry on the legacy by distributing and further developing the set of ERS plugins. This plug-in has been developed to sound like the Roland Dimension D Chorus with enhanced controls (a hardware chorus that has been used on thousands of recordings worldwide). It has its own signature sound: it is famous for delivering a subtle, stereoizing enhancing, airy effect while adding more presence to a sound. Most chorus products give a lot of modulation and do not keep the original structure of the sound intact. This chorus is way more subtle and adds something rather than take away the original quality of the sound.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: REMAKE at 5.0 against ERS_DimD's 4.0. REMAKE also leads on price ($1.99 vs $9.99). ERS_DimD's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and update cadence (every 8 months vs every 42 months). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

REMAKE holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ERS_DimD has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of REMAKE's written reviews are positive against 100% of ERS_DimD's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

REMAKE ships an update every 42 months, ERS_DimD every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on September 22, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
