Fit Tolerance ANSI vs mechanical design engine
Price, ratings, monetisation and update history for both apps, side by side — with what reviewers say about each.
Fit Tolerance ANSI
Calculate ANSI standard limits and fits for cylindrical parts like bearings and shafts. It supports various fit types based on inch units and provides a schematic representation of the fit. Ideal for engineers and designers working with precision components.
- ANSI standard limits and fits calculation
- Supports inch units
- Calculates tolerances for inner and outer features
- Handles various fit types (RC, LC, LT, LN, FN)
- Schematic representation of fits
- Applicable to non-threaded cylindrical parts

ANSI limits, fits and tolerances calculator has been developed to calculate tolerances of inner and outer features of journal bearings, linear bearings, thrust bearings, bushings, ball bearings, roller bearings, housings, cylinder bores, drilled holes, linear and precision shafts, pistons, etc. ANSI standard limits and fits calculator works in line with ANSI B4.1-1967 (R2004) standard which is based on inch units. According to the input parameters of nominal size and fit type selection among running and sliding [RC], locational clearance [LC], locational transition [LT], locational interference [LN], force and shrink [FN] fits, size limits for hole/shaft are calculated. The schematic representation of the fit is also drawn. This calculator is applicable to non-threaded cylindrical parts.

* To calculate basic thickness of cylindrical/rectangular pressure vessel including heads if input data such as pressure, temperature, inner diameter and material information. * flange data can be easily searched. * Profile steel information such as pipe, H, W, I and U-Beam. * Raw material information, that is chemical composition and mechanical properties, for example, ASTM A240 316L, EN10297-1, SUS316L and so on. * Size and shape information of every thread(iso/unf/pf/pt) and shackles(bow/d-type) * To calculate force and moment of solid mechanics according to support type.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: mechanical design engine at none against Fit Tolerance ANSI's shown. mechanical design engine also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
