Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: DroneTOC at 5.0 against Roadside History's 4.6. Roadside History's advantage is ratings volume (26 vs 1) and device support. On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Roadside History sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and DroneTOC sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
DroneTOC holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Roadside History has 26 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
