Senstream vs PIEL Data

RESEARCH RING: LAB GRADE PHYSIOLOGICAL DATA ACQUISITION PLEASE NOTE:  The Senstream Researcher Ring is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent medical conditions or illnesses. The app is designed to record physiological signal data, but not to make medical decisions. Multi-Sensor: Electrodermal activity (EDA, aka GSR), ECG, PPG, temperature and motion, captured from a single, user friendly device with long battery life. Electrodermal Data: Our initial product is the first ring form factor device that captures electrodermal activity with lab quality, enabling new types of research. ECG and/or Pulse: Capture electrocardiograph (ECG) and/or photoplethysmograph (PPG) data, depending on the specific needs of a study or application. Temperature and Motion: Capture temperature data from the finger, and contextualize physiological data with motion data captured by the Research Ring. PIEL Data is an app designed to help researchers manage the data collected from projects using the PIEL Survey app (available on the Apple Store). The app only handles the specific file format of the PIEL Survey app and cannot process other data file types. The PIEL Survey app enables researchers to conduct “in the moment” surveys. The data is received in the form of individual “csv” files which then have to be merged manually using spreadsheet software. The PIEL Data app enables researchers to import the participant data files into to the app database. This data can then be exported into a merged “csv” file which can easily be imported into third party spreadsheet or statistical software. The PIEL Survey app has been used by more than 40 universities in the US and Europe with more than 50 per reviewed publications. The PIEL Data app will streamline the process of conducting such projects.
